ADOPT-A-SWIMMER

The swim boosters are launching a new program called "Adopt-a-Swimmer." This is an effort to fully fund pool rental for the high school swim teams through athletic fees. If every student paid the sports participation fee (required for all district sports), the biggest cost of swimming, pool rental, would be covered. Last year, 60 swimmers were not able to pay the fee. (15 of these swimmers were Vikings.)

Community members are invited to "adopt" a swimmer and pay their (tax-deductible) $150 athletic fee. Sixty swimmers from every school have volunteered to be adopted. These swimmers will send two letters to their adoptive "parents," introducing themselves and expressing their gratitude for the support of the program. More details are available at the swim booster website: http://salemkeizerswim.org/
