Wallace B. Carson, Jr. (2006 Achievement Award)

A Salem native whose mother taught at Salem High School, Carson attended Stanford University and Willamette University law School. While in private law practice, he was majority leader in the Oregon House of Representatives, and served in the Oregon Senate. “Wally” Carson began his judicial career in 1977 as judge for the Marion County Circuit Court, joining the Oregon Supreme Court in 1982, where he served as Chief Justice for 14 years.
