Malcolm Snider (2006 Athletics Award)

While at North High, Malcolm was very active. A member of National Honor Society, he played string bass in the orchestra and was elected Governor of the YMCA Oregon Youth Legislature. An all-around athlete, he was a 1st Team All-Stater in football, placed second in State in wrestling, and won State in the shot put in track. His football team won State (with Grant High School) in 1964. At Stanford University he was an All-American football tackle. Snider was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1969, playing for them for three years before being traded to the Green Bay Packers. He is now a respected orthopedic surgeon in Salem.
