Harold Hauk (2008 Service Award)

Hauk was a ten-time letter winner at Willamette University, All NW Conference in basketball for four years, and three years in baseball. Graduating in 1930, he soon took the helm of various Salem High School teams, and in a 15-year span, his basketball teams were a conference and state power, establishing a 312-123 record, a winning percentage of .717. Hauk was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1982 for his contributions to coaching, among which was starting the Oregon Coaches Directory, which he continued to write and edit until his death in 1988.
