Carlos “Cub” Houck (2007 Achievement Award)

Cub Houck was a three-sport athlete at both Salem High School and Oregon State College. He was the starting third baseman on the College World Series team of 1952. After serving in the Air Force, he joined the family construction business. He served on he Salem City council, the Salem School Board, and then as An Oregon State Senator. Houck Middle School is named for him.
