Bruce King (2006 Achievement Award)

Bruce King attended Salem High School from 1949 to 1952, going on to the University of Oregon. He began his broadcasting career at KEZI in Eugene in 1961. After five years, he moved to California, working at various ABC affiliates, where he covered various big-time events, such as the first Super Bowl. He became sports director/anchor at KOMO TV News in Seattle for 30 years, and is well-known in the area doing play-by-play of University of Washington football and basketball games. During his career, Bruce was named Washington State Sportscaster of the Year four times. He also won two Emmy Awards and various other awards in his specialty.
